Any tips for a beginner runner looking to run a marathon in a year? I’m not running at all currently and am wondering if building a base before I start marathon training is necessary.

if i were going from zero to a marathon in oct 2024, i'd slowly work up to ~30mpw over the next 8 months, then do a marathon training plan for four months or so
