99% of folks don’t understand that trad futures are essentially a pair of options contracts (except right —> obligation) where you buy the future contract and sell the current 

Perps ditch expiration and use funding to converge prices towards spot

contango (positive funding)/backwardation(negative)

yup just like interest rate can be negative
