you do have to pay onchain on account setup, it's just renewing storage that's technically optional -- but the initial payment is abstracted away by WC/i think subsidized now

dont have to store anything if you don't want. but yeah, at current scale, x is paying out waaay more for top creators

ye its def more lucrative on here unless ur a huge acct on X

(And on FC I’ve earned more from rewards than I’ve paid in fees with a smaller following; can’t say the same about X)
