the assumptions about farcaster culture are more damaging than actual farcaster culture assumption: people hate solana, hate memecoins, everyone is base and eth "aligned" and has a stick up ass etc. reality: literally nobody gaf you can say whatever you want it's chill, the above is cope to justify self censoring

I agree with your reality portion but there isn’t a whole lot of chatter + engagement around Solana here

this is true but no one really pushed back on the assumptions in public for a long ass time, so the assumptions persisted and even amplified there have been several instances where i've reached out and said "why do you think this?" and i'm literally the first person to tell them that they assumed incorrectly

This is increasingly true, but the Base maxi crowd is still disproportionately heavy here. This is not at all a bad thing - it’s just that more diversity is good and nobody wants an echo chamber. Last year, it felt more like an echo chamber (to me).

Tru dat. I think the whole false message about FC being "Base's native social network" got spread around and it's stuck in the minds of a lot of users (myself included). But growth mandates that we need to shed these ideas. Anyone can--and does--use Farcaster, that's perfectly cool with me.

I mean besides being base aligned and stick up ass, all the other assumptions are a net positive for the space if they were correct

good point… I think it’s a stereotype that stuck and now most people just do/follow it blindly (myself) I don’t think I’ve seen or had a positive conversation about solana here..

think the reason behind this is that the vice versa is kinda true. it’s rare to find a solana maxi who’s bullish on anything in the eth ecosystem. this kind of separation was never needed in the space. all we really need is a decentralized social that just works.
