unpopular opinion - with the direction we’re heading right now towards memecoin summer, it feels too reminiscent of 2022 (I’m taking your definition of 2022 at face value)

i think one thing that differentiates memecoins from 2022 ponzis is it's pretty much fully retail driven, so there's unlikely to be huge institutional blowups like in 2022. but i do think stuff like these presale rugs etc are not a great look for regulatory eyes

agreed. and regulatory seems to care more about retail than institutional - or at least that’s their mandate. so mostly i question if is actually moving “the space” “forward” (arguably any movement is forward movement?)
