/trains I don’t understand why they check tickets on a train after it’s already left and moving. They do this in the US too, doesn’t make sense cuz there’s nothing you can do at that point if someone snuck on Better to just have it be like airplane system imo. I must be missing something

Here they fine bigly if caught onboard without a ticket. So it’s like a random large threat for non-compliance that presumably takes less manpower and is more efficient than checking every ticket before boarding.

In Europe, they fine you esp Germany. And getting lectured by them is not a pretty sight.. That being said, you think after being scanned they'd know, but people try to jump classes too.
