the corollary to this is that sometimes ideas are valuable products in and of themselves; this is essentially what memes are. the worst outcome is an idea larping as an actual product that doesn't exist/isn't what the idea claims to be. that's just grift

Media and pop culture taught them this is OK wrt long range, grandiose ideas - eg Robotaxi, Full Self driving etc.
