I can't speak for that person only theorize maybe they wanted to know what they were getting involved with before committing time effort and further resources I think that is a reasonable ask. I was happy to jump in and help where I could But I didn't know better to make sure it was a mutually beneficial exchange

I don’t disagree with that. If there’s an open forum though to learn about what you can get into then I also think it’s reasonable to consider that there were enough times to make a decision to actively or passively support the project. I don’t think any contributor is wrong in what they wanted to do
