went to a church today that hosts the second largest organ in the world, and this performance of ‘City Called Heaven’ by the choir + an extremely talented soloist was INCREDIBLE regardless of faith, you should listen (link should be clipped to go straight to the song) https://www.youtube.com/live/Rf8vMQWYzu0?t=4966&si=EQCdw04qID-uyj2W

The way church music moves this atheist makes no sense. So beautiful. Also, I didn’t know about the organ. Thank you for sharing

I am also an atheist, and church music moves me like nothing else does. I know what you mean. For me, personally, it makes me feel like I get a glimpse into what it must be like to believe in religion. It makes me kind of envious that I won’t ever feel that way.

I’ll bet it’s more than that. So many artists and musicians feel inspired by god or their faith and the results are too meaningful to be meddled with. This clip of Christopher Hitchens, perhaps the staunchest atheist thinker, lives rent free in my head and I love it (the documentary: COLLISION)
