This is all a precursor to letting adults marry 14 year olds. Just wait, it’s coming to the red states.

Unfortunately this already happens. Child marriage was legal in all 50 states until 2018. It is still legal today in 38 states. Here’s a breakdown by age, for the time period of 2000-2018:

10-Year-Olds: 5 (<1%)
11-Year-Olds: 1 (<1%)
12-Year-Olds: 14 (<1%)
13-Year-Olds: 78 (<1%)
14-Year-Olds: 1,223 (<1%)
15-Year-Olds: 8,199 (4%)
16-Year-Olds: 63,956 (29%)
17-Year-Olds: 148,944 (67%)
