sorry but this seems INSANE but my dad was telling me when he was a kid in Chicago they didn't have trash pickup they just had concrete bins that they burned their trash in and then the garbage people would collect the leftover ashes/stuff that didn't burn. like everybody just threw away their trash inside and then lit it on fire and then left ? idk  do other countries still do this regularly ? i guess everybody just breathed in burnt trash all the time ?

Another feature of pre-trash-pickup homes is razor blade slots in the medicine cabinet. Which my current home has. I sometimes put stuff down it, just to creep myself out about it being trapped inside on top of a pile of razors 😳
