I think he's been inactive here for a bit which is a shame. 

To me, this particular piece illustrates the sacrifice many artists make to present the world with something interesting or beautiful (or both) to experience. That effort is sometimes not recognized, and sometimes is not able to be fully compensated either. But the drive to create and share is so compelling for many that they pursue it anyway despite the cost to them.
