My drafting checkpoints: 1: There's *a* story here from front to back. 1.5: Plot and character revisions until it's tight. 2: Full complete revision such that you can give it to anyone to read. 3: Literary rewrite focusing on polish around scene construction, rhythm, and word use. Flow is the goal. 4: Proofread.
