Started reading 'Why Women Have Better Sex Under Socialism'. I'm a couple chapters in, but I'm confused if the author prefers *non-socialist* Scandanavian models to actual Socialism. Most of her criticisms so far about Socialism seem to come from Cold War era USSR.

It will be interesting to see how this book progresses. So far kind of a weird in-between sort-of-argument for "Socialism".

Finished the book 'Why Women Have Better Sex Under Socialism'. It was ok. I learned a few things about the economic hardship unique to women under capitalism, but overall it was kind of a strange book. It focuses almost entirely on Cold War era Eastern Block countries vs "Socialist" Nordic / Northern Europe countries. The author seems to prefer DemSoc system of Northern Europe to actual Socialism, in which she claims "the experiment has failed in the 20th century". It doesn't seem like a good faith argument, even if the specific points about Feminism are good. In some parts she praises socialism and its progress for women in the workplace and independence movements, but then in other parts she just completely shits on Socialism ... very mixed messaging.

I'm not sure if this book would convince anybody on the fence about Socialism, if that was even the goal of the book.
