someone should make a Leftist farcaster client, where it just shows Leftist channels and nothing else: /solidarity, /cryptoleft, /degencommunism, /coordinations, /regen, /lgbt, /cooperatives, etc. name it Marxcaster or something lol, integrate it with breadchain, etc instead of whatever the meme coin/project of the week is. 🤔

Every piece of news, media, social media, ad, etc that I consume is a product of capitalism and all of the bias that comes with it, *unless I specifically filter it out*. Having warpcast (or bluesky, or whatever) be Leftist-only still is just a tiny fraction of the "normal" capitalist content that I consume. I truly don't see how I'm in a bubble if I wanted to do this, or that exposing myself to the grindbro/techdouche feed that is warpcast expands my that"bubble"

I don’t disagree and have mixed feelings about the situation: on one hand I believe what we need is more compassion in general, and that comes from understanding where the other perspective is coming from. On the other, I believe it’s strategic to follow them in order to resist or disrupt (you have to know your opponent well).

From my perspective everything has to do with compassion and empathy. If you (not you specifically, people in general) don’t care about someone else, you cannot create policies, products or systems that value them instead of capital, property, etc. imo

In a FC client you'd still be able to see the the posts from everyone in the network. The only difference would be what the algo rewards for the home feed (or if you want to add functionalities on top of the existing ones), but it does not imply creating a bubble of leftist-only content

Personally, I dgaf about 99% of the FC feed. I'm not into the grindbro/hustlebro/techbro/musklover 'thing' that everybody here (on FC) is seemingly into. What if one day, Dan (or whomever) decides that our little group here is "hate speech" or "inciting terrorism", and blocks the group? Having our own client would be pretty useful, no? Dan has already shown that he can take away groups at a whim ...

Definitely Warpcast isn't being built from a credibly neutral perspective, and just like X I feel the algo rewards a certain type of content I don't vibe with it. But as Dan always replies to criticism with the "build your own client then" gotcha, we might as well go ahead with it...
