when you create a resume... how much do you buff it up? i have a (really) bad tendency to undermine everything and don't know what to put for skills

don’t bluff up try to be accurate and quantitative though google up “STAR resume format”: Situation Task Action Result don’t have follow to the dot, but it’s a good framework

I think if someone's not getting interest from their resume, it's not because they haven't fully optimized the STAR format

sure, there are people who haven’t done anything relevant and they’ll be ignored for that reason but there are also plenty of experienced folks with good xp, they just don’t know how to present it well for a recruiters to shortlist them especially loads of introverted ppl do that doesn’t hurt to optimize

It's hard to optimize when recruiters' idea of feedback is ghosting, or being gracious enough to send an automated template rejection email
