I recently developed a moderate food allergy and it's completely changed my interactions around dining which I had never been exposed to. Makes me have a lot more empathy for people who experience this For example contacting restaurants separately to share my allergy and ask if that's okay, telling people to get whatever they want and not to worry about me, occasional when there are trace/unexpected amounts in the food causing an allergic reaction but then telling the other person I'm going to be okay and don't freak out. And I'm really lucky mine is moderate not severe too

I used to think allergies were something special that only affected certain people, but I’ve realized that allergic reactions can develop even if you’ve never had them before. Thank you for sharing your experience, Linda. It's a reminder of how important it is to be considerate of others, especially when it comes to allergies. Wishing you all the best!
