Since Spam labels are now public, I’ve spent some time looking at things these accounts have in common vs accounts that don’t get labeled and this is my initial advice for people who’ve been labeled. 1. STOP sharing frames. If you didn’t build it, don’t share it. 2. Stop recasting. Instead, quote cast and spell out why you are sharing it. What makes this worthy of being shared? 3. Ensure 80% of your timeline is original content. Don’t steal it from the web, make something unique and genuine. It better to not cast at all than to cast slop. 4. Only reply to people in channels. If someone casts to their home feed and doesn’t follow you, don’t comment. 5. Stop tagging people. They don’t get notified of the tags anyway. It’s pointless to tag them.

And how is it that we don't tag anyone? To me when they tag me if I get the notification, therefore, if it would be of any use, as long as it is for some justified cause or for quality. And on the other hand, I would now like to share your cast on a farcaster channel in Spanish, translating it and thanking you, would that be good? Or would it hurt me? And for the record, I'm not with a spam tag but I'd like to stay free

I think translating would be awesome. If we are mutual friends (we are) we can tag each other all we want. The algo ignores us. It pays attention when a “stranger” tags us. If we don’t respond, the algo thinks that user is spammy. If the user has been marked as spam, we don’t even see the tag, so of course we don’t respond, and now the algo thinks they are MORE spammmy.

As an artists, I love them people tag my work and I always thank them with a like (so they know I saw it) or a thank you note if I can. But if you have a spam label, you should probably remove the tags. If you don’t and the artists never engages with you back, you should probably stop tagging them too. The algo sees them ignoring you as being spammy. If they can’t take the time to like you for casting about them, they suck.

totally agree lol but will only tag more cautious from now on and artists who are following me too and where i know that they will at least like the cast they are tagged in...thankfully there are many who also reply which is pretty nice! 👍
