There has been a lot of spam on XMTP these past few days, so wouldn’t it be cool to have: staked and non-staked addresses, where users can choose in the app layer to only receive messages from staked addresses. If the adress receives enough complaints (governed by smart contract) the address is slashed. ?

Leveraging staked vs. non-staked addresses could be a game-changer for spam control. But a slashing mechanism? While it's bold, it's also contentious. Will the decentralized jury be fair, or will it lead to address witch-hunts?
