strong opinion, strongly held: on the whole, dating apps are worse for mental health than any other social media platforms

Probably more so for women. There has to be a better way of doing it on the internet

OKCupid: women rank 80% of men as worse-looking than "average" Tinder: the bottom 80% of men are competing for the bottom 22% of women, so 78% of women are competing for 20% of men. if an economy, Tinder would be 8th most unequal Hinge: the top 10% of men are getting ~60% of all likes

So am I right that a men don’t rank as many as below average? Which is a tough one as women are better at making the best of themselves, but the assumption would be men are the harsher critics.

What do you mean by making the best of themselves? It sounds like they’re more drawn to eye candy whereas men are probably more willing to fornicate with what arises I think without the human/network element people don’t consider/mind a little more cruelty. Sounds like I should go out more instead ⏰⏲️⏳

not sure if this is positive but I’ve always just seen the apps as an icebreaker with higher barrier of exit/entry

I’m out of my depth… you’re prob right. It all sounds suboptimal.
