evm shower thought: 1 an explosion of L2s are coming 2 block space will be commoditized 3 brand will become the differentiating factor 4 we'll soon see many "L2 for X" narratives 5 some will seed supply by incentivizing developers 6 some will seed demand by incentivizing users 7 fragmentation will make ux much worse

No judgement, why? What is missing functionally that should be at the root level?

imo compute is the most effective thing, if gcp wants to shut a company down, they can blockchains are nice for sending/receiving tokens, it can’t run a serious service. the biggest ones are names and swapping token assets, crypto internet needs to run 70B llama

imo most of blockchain is solutions to a non-problem with the hope of growing the economy (which is mostly boom and bust). i believe it will run money someday, names is reasonable, securities are reasonable. blockchain specific games? sure, if beanie babies are world changing. mostly it’s just the internet casino

Compute makes sense, why does that need to be at L1? Can't the data and the compute be at different layers or is there an advantage created by putting them at the same level? I'm asking this way because I've yet to see a scalable instance where the data layer can move at the pace of compute while preserving security
