Sometimes we had to test tours and new services... it was pretty cool, although sometimes boring, because let's be honest, not all tours are interesting. So as part of one of those tests, a few of us, including me, went on a hot air balloon ride.

We got up at 4am and were taken to some random field where there was just a balloon lying around. We were hoping to take off before sunrise, but... Dominican slowness. They took a long time to inflate the balloon - ha ha. But in the end, we took off.

Unlike most things, a hot air balloon ride is not scary or nerve-wracking - it's just really fun. But it was nerve-wracking when we almost landed on the roofs of an illegal Haitian village. The locals were not happy. The kids were curious, but the adults were pretty aggressive. Luckily, there was an escort car following us on the ground and they quickly got us out of there.

One of the most unforgettable trips I’ve had was to the province of Constanța. It was a totally spontaneous trip - my friends planned it, and they invited me along. Constanța is up in the mountains, at least 1.5 km above sea level. I can’t remember the exact name of the place we ended up, but it was a small town... Anyway, that’s not the point.

There wasn’t much to do there, but the hotel we stayed at offered hiking and paragliding. None of us had planned for any of that, but we all decided to go paragliding since the prices were super low - probably because it wasn’t a touristy area

The next morning, they took us to a mountain, and then we hiked about 5 kilometers. The scenery was absolutely stunning, probably the most beautiful I’ve ever seen! And then... well, at that point, I didn’t even know what paragliding was, haha. But wow, it was incredible!

If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend trying it. The feeling is unforgettable - a hot air balloon doesn’t even come close to this!
