The Conservative Party in the UK: My Small Part in Their Rise 14 years ago, I was a new police officer with less than a year of service. I patrolled Westminster from Charing Cross Police Station, and one day in May 2010, my sergeant escorted me to the government building in Whitehall, instructing Conservative and Liberal politicians to protect them during negotiations to form a coalition government. I spend most of my time sitting in some very large offices. I remember their choice of different teas left a deep impression on me, and I think these teas are very complex.

Friendly competition I befriended an American girl when I was in college. She studied war studies for a semester at King's College. Now she lives in Chicago, but we still chat on Instagram and she sends me Christmas cards every year. She often joked about America's superiority, so this year I drew a sketch of the British burning of the White House in 1814 in her Christmas card. This was drawn during a boring Zoom meeting, and I think she would appreciate the humor.

Soren is not the security model they thought he was. I saw an advertisement for a home security technology company located in San Francisco on LinkedIn. Its name is' Sauron ', apparently named after the evil Dark Lord in The Lord of the Rings. People in the tech industry particularly like to name their companies after 'The Lord of the Rings' (such as' Palantir'), but I can't help but feel that 'Sauron' is a terrible name. Firstly, this name completely represents evil and has no positive connotations. Secondly, he is actually very poor at home security - this is his fatal weakness. He allowed several hobbits to secretly infiltrate the weakest link of his empire, ultimately destroying his power. He didn't even arrange for half an orc to guard the entrance of the volcano. For thousands of years, he was aware of the existence of this vulnerability but never conducted any actual risk assessment.

UK Guide: Interesting Shops near Chinatown in London My nephew will be baptized soon. According to tradition, infants are usually given a silverware as a gift during baptism. Although this tradition is gradually being forgotten nowadays due to the high price of silverware and the limited selection of silverware in modern high street jewelry stores, one can usually find a silver bell or piggy bank. However, I am still a traditionalist.

UK Guide: Dealing with Mentally Disturbed People I'd like to share a little story about being on the London Underground, although if you know anything about British pop singers in the 1990s, you might find it more interesting. Since the closure of most psychiatric hospitals in the UK in the 80s, many people with serious mental health problems who have not received treatment have started to live on the streets, creating a large number of safety problems. Imagine how much chaos a person can create by an aggressive, unrestrained person wandering around London for a day, and then multiply that by thousands. Many of these people can switch between harmless and dangerous in an instant. I have a feeling that this type of person may be more likely to target Chinese for a similar reason to why teenagers might target Chinese – because Chinese look "different" in appearance and therefore attract their attention and interest, which is unfortunately true.

London Stories: From Medieval Guilds to Modern Heroes The City of London (referring to the Old Town, which covers an area of approximately one square mile and is a separate entity from Greater London in a broader sense) has many ancient guilds dating back to the Middle Ages, which were established by craftsmen to unite. Nowadays, many guild halls still exist, and there are also many modern guilds coexisting with these ancient guilds. This week, the guild I belong to is established for security professionals. We gathered at the Armor Maker Guild Hall to present awards to those who have shown bravery. This award not only includes people, but also dogs - outstanding dogs in the military, civilian security, and law enforcement fields all have exclusive awards. They also put on long robes, which was very interesting.

What kind of past does your DNA tell? Is anyone interested in genealogical DNA? A few years ago, I did my own DNA test, which may have been a bit irrational because I knew my grandparents were both born in Ireland. So, when the results showed that I am 100% Irish, I felt like I might have wasted a bit of money. Since then, they have updated and optimized the data several times in order to improve accuracy, but I found that each update was even more unsatisfactory - last year I was 98% Irish and 2% Scottish, and now I inexplicably have 7% English ancestry, who knows what it will become in the future.

The right-wing tendency of British media The newly appointed Labour government in the UK recently announced a new budget. Generally speaking, the Labour Party represents the working class, while the Conservative Party tends to represent the owners of capital. After 14 years of policy mistakes, the new budget attempts to shift the tax burden from the working class to those with capital - this is the expected approach of the Labour government. This policy also reflects to some extent the divergence of interests between the elderly and young people. I hold a neutral stance, although I do not like tax increases, I am not surprised and believe that there is no other choice. Most of the media in the UK is controlled by right-wing billionaires, who have shown strong shock at this. In the past few years, The Daily Telegraph's reports have become increasingly absurd. Recently, they even reported on a couple who own 60 rental properties, as if hoping for sympathy from everyone towards them.

One eyed pirate provides UK security tips Yesterday I had a biopsy on my eyes, and although the eye mask is a bit inconvenient, I don't dislike this look. I feel like someone selling weapons in the Middle East, but the products are very reliable. Or like a pirate, but the kind that is quite friendly when not busy robbing ships. The nurses are all Filipinos or Africans, the surgeon is an Arab woman, and the anesthesiologist is an Indian woman (judging from their accents, they are all first generation immigrants), so our immigration policy has indeed brought some practical benefits.

Greeks were mistaken for Israelis by a fool When I served as a riot police officer, I had to deal with various protesters. What annoys me a bit is that no matter what happens thousands of miles away in a foreign country, the next day we can always see someone feel the need to attack us in Trafalgar Square, as if we have something to do with those things.

UK Security Tip: Prevent valuable items from being stolen in hotels. This is a relatively niche criminal field, so I didn't mention it before. But according to the queries I have received, many fans in the UK are relatively wealthy. Even in the most luxurious hotels, don't let your guard down - especially in mid-range hotels where thieves may be more easily infiltrated and still worth taking action against. I know of some cases where thieves are even willing to spend months working in a certain position in a hotel in order to reach travelers carrying high-value jewelry and watches.

UK safety alert: Latest information on riots The man was sentenced to three years in prison at Plymouth Criminal Court for his involvement in the riots. When the police questioned him, he said that foreigners should not receive financial support from the state. This hypocritical statement angered the judge, who detailed the disturbances and burdens he had caused to society throughout his life. Subsequently, his lawyer attempted to defend him, stating that his life was extremely difficult - growing up in the social welfare system rather than being taken care of by his parents, being addicted to drugs, experiencing serious injuries, and so on. In my opinion, this vividly portrays the image of the 'lower class' that I have described multiple times, as well as their extremely chaotic way of life. However, the problem is not entirely with him personally. A system that allows him to commit 170 crimes while still being able to walk freely is absurd, and I will not argue for it.

Recommended British Cuisine - Hot Pot Experience in London Recently, I feel like an internet celebrity because Da Long Yi's friends invited me to taste authentic hotpot. They have opened a new restaurant on Berners Street, which is located next to Oxford Street, north of Soho - I am very familiar with this area because I used to patrol here.

They have opened a new restaurant on Berners Street, which is located next to Oxford Street, north of Soho - I am very familiar with this area because I used to patrol here. Before joining Xiaohongshu, I had never heard of hotpot, but since then, I have often seen people mention it. I feel that many Chinese people are very proud of their traditional food, while they have a little disdain for British food. People from other countries seem to be the same. Anyway, I was supposed to meet some old police friends, so I invited them to have hotpot together. I think we look a bit 'massive', like Harry Potter's three Haggs sitting together to eat. However, I had a great time!

UK safety tip: advice from an old detective I would like to share some random cases that I encountered while working as a regular detective in London. During this process, I will mention some situations involving animal abuse, so if you feel uncomfortable about it, I suggest not watching. As usual, if you have any questions, feel free to ask me anytime and I will do my best to answer them.

UK safety tip: from a former police officer Today in Leicester Square, London, a man was arrested by the police for stabbing/cutting a woman and an 11 year old girl. Both of them are currently in the hospital and are expected to survive. This is the footage from the law enforcement recorder and on-site photos of his arrest. Obviously, the man is white, but it is not clear whether he is British. The police have not yet revealed the nationality of the victim. They stated that they do not believe this is a terrorist attack - usually far right attacks would be described as terrorist attacks. We currently do not have all the facts, but there are reports that the victim and the suspect did not know each other, and this seems to be a random attack. If this is not a terrorist attack and there is no personal motive, then the only reasonable explanation is that the suspect is mentally ill.

UK Security Guide: Riot Police The UK riot police system is divided into three levels: **Level 3 * * - Ordinary police officers who receive basic training and have lower physical requirements. **Level 2 * * - These are ordinary police officers who have undergone public order training and perform public order tasks in addition to their daily duties. In London, there are approximately 3500 well-trained Level 2 police officers with high physical fitness requirements. **Level 1 * * - Full time police officer. Only accept and execute public order tasks. In London, these police officers are known as TSG (Local Support Group), with approximately 500 members and extremely high physical fitness requirements. The French riot police widely use CS spray. We can't believe that we allow violent protesters to get so close. We should use more rapid assault teams to break through shield walls and capture key troublemakers to deter others.
