After 4+ years, I still find it strange / amusing there’s a group of people still here who somehow think Varun and I are not actually interested in building a protocol and it’s all a ruse to do a rug pull a la 2014 Twitter.

Fwiw I totally believe you, I just don't enjoy the fact that I need to believe you. :) I also understand why it's effective for iterating and building a better product sooner. 

If it's any consolation, I can't think of anyone who I believe would do a much better job *and* is more worthy of trust. You're well suited for this!

I think my biggest fear is that you'll see some credible opportunity (eg tokens let's say) and start optimizing for that instead of something I'd consider more important (eg channels/"cozy spaces" let's say). It's frustrating to argue against "I have secret data you don't have so your position is invalid" — not that I don't believe you (I do), but this is another not-enjoyable position.

All the while I understand your constraints as a startup, you have to demonstrate growth or else wind down. I've done the same, I get it, but the ticking clock is also unpleasant. It is what it is.

In either case, I'm onboard. 🫡
