Gambling is treated as taboo in school, all but outlawed. Is there a world where fewer people make devastating risky decisions in adulthood because we better acclimate and educate our youth via gambling in safer and controlled environments? Not to mention including any kind of financial literacy at all.

Yep agree, life decisions are calculated bets. Imagine a statistics and rational decision making focus in education and how that might help people individually (and even in collective decision making/governing) One popular version of this I can think is Annie Duke’s book Thinking in Bets.

Also relevant to the classic "regret minimizing" framework, parallel thread: https://warpcast.com/shazow.eth/0x961b1f39 Annie Duke is cool, I was a fan during the early WSOP days!

Ah yes I only learned about her after that. And thanks for the reminder about regret minimizing! I have an immediate application for it. I should really just build a checklist of frameworks to try on different life problems. Like a toolbox. 🧰
