I debated sending this because one could argue that losses are limited to what we have. But ultimately what we have is our entire life, which is everything to the individual losing it.

It's a play on "play stupid games, get stupid prizes" in case it's not obvious. πŸ˜… I'd still argue that these aren't the same: 1. Have $100, chance to win $100 or lose $100 2. Have $100, chance to win infinity or lose $100 That's a particular trick of capitalism (unbounded upside for capital, bounded for labor).
