Confession: the rewards leaderboard has been deterring me from wanting to make new content. I feel like I’m someone who puts a good amount of effort into my content, and definitely a lot with my scripted videos. I see a lot of people who make amazing, thoughtful content and never end up in the top 5.

Kinda agree, not that I identify as someone who makes a lot of amazing/thoughtful content, but I'm feeling a very specific and different mentality of "I'm going to hustle the rewards leaderboard this week" then lightly burn out and take a break, get fomo, maybe repeat until I don't. Random idea: Nominate a cast to be considered for awards in some category (maybe monthly?) and have it be partly voting, partly metrics, partly curation. Like mini-oscars.

I feel exactly the same way. And I think that’s a really cool idea!

There was a recent quip I really liked about Ethereum core devs/researchers/etc being upset about all kinds of things (a lot of "I TOLD YOU SO" dunks), and someone joked "What Ethereum people really want is recognition, we should just have a trade awards ceremony like the Oscars." I think it's a great insight that applies to all kinds of spaces!

Yes! I think people underestimate the value of recognition. I loved my $5 USDC rewards. Even if the amount I get from the weekly rewards has added up to roughly the same amount/more, it still felt better and I can’t explain why.
