Have you read Altered Carbon? I really enjoyed that writing/universe. (Season 1 of the TV show is decent but Season 2 is complete trash relative to the books.)

It's like they pivoted from having an adult target audience for season 1, to having a Disney G audience for season 2. Just bizarre.

I've not read the books but agree re the TV series. Season was  a decent watch, season 2 was terrible, stopped watching after a couple episodes

I read them altered carbon, broken angels, woken furies, and market forces a long time ago. IIRC the last one is not worth it, the rest are good.

Had no idea it was an adaptation! How many of the books in the universe have you gone through? 

Btw I totally agree with your assessment of the show, S2 really dropped off. But to their credit their take on FTL travel is among my favourites in sci-fi
