We had it in Calgary for decades, removed it for a few years, then added it back into our supply

I don’t think its back in the water just yet (we’ve been having some major water main issues). But yea, we voted it back in with a referendum during covid. Removed it in 2011.

Sounds like ingesting fluoride is more important while teeth are being formed, and applying topically is more effective after teeth are formed.

I’d be interested to know how well that study was reviewed and whether anyone had similar findings. I feel like you’d have to adjust so much for the diet of those in the study as sugar and acid (common in most processed foods) are extremely cavity forming and yet enjoyed by modern kids. As I say we never had it in any of the parts of Canada I’ve lived in and what cavities I have came from poor brushing and flossing habits as a kid. I’m no expert but it does interest me. Thanks for sharing
