Dunno, maybe some people can see further ahead and realize that it's a shallow game of racing to be the first to buy the best land, and then basically sitting around waiting for everyone else to get demoralized and stop wanting to play anymore.

Other people play twice.

Interesting, I think most people after playing Monopoly don't think 'Oh its so unfair' but 'I need to buy the best land next time' :)
