We should have some kind of a trial for EIPs, with somebody whose job is simply to make hostile arguments and see how well the advocates' case can hold up. (We don't necessarily need a jury making a decision, we just need to hear the argument.) The process suffers from the fact that nobody wants to be a dick

Everyone wants to be a dick on Twitter. Maybe we need l2beats for EIPs, eipbeats, where each EIP has a big Q&A of the biggest criticisms vs the most charitable responses.
