what i learned from meeting people in idyllwild is that mountain people are simply built different 

they casually run a fast 14 miles at 6k elevation, work a completely normal job, wave to you in the grocery like they’re stoked on life, and then bike the same trail at night

like your ironman is their turkey trot

seriously! all of the locals I met in Idyllwild are down-to-earth, selfless, content with life, and just all around solid people.
