In retrospect, maybe Trump should've tried to only do the second debate.

A year ago Sam Altman went on a tour with regulators with the purpose of inserting fear and calling for regulations...he literally marketed this as a tool that could end the world, he wanted this. The big losers of this regulation will be startups and he knows this very well. https://x.com/AndrewCurran_/status/1815730280235401452

Actually, you don't have to think about that. That very version of the democratic party is insane and after nearly a decade of Trump running and still not understanding that moment just shows total narcissism.

I don't know if people like Aaron, Wolfe, Khosla, etc... just have zero understanding of anything political or if they're trying to participate in a noble lie exercise. It's insane to think that any previous version of the democratic party and its underlying ideology just won't lead to today again.

It's just insane that we could now end up in a world where someone who probably couldn't have become a district attorney without affirmative action could become the President of the United States.

Elon can fix this through an agressive use of community notes. eg: https://warpcast.com/erik/0x5f818399

When people talk about threat to democracy or institutions, what they mean is threat to democrats or democratically run institutions. When democrats storm the White House or try to jail their political opponent or stage a coup on their own candidate, this is good for democracy because it serves the democrat party.

It’s hard to overstate how important this part from Vance’s speech is going to be in American politics going forward: “One of the things you hear people say is that America is an idea. America is not just an idea, is a group of people with a shared history and common purpose.”

Related to my recent cast on political philosophy vs. policy vs. people's culture. J. D. Vance understands the significance of America's founding culture more than anyone else in the Republican party today.

J. D. Vance will confirm the future of the Republican party as an America First party. Alongside him working with Thiel gives him an understanding of the larger crisis.
