People 55 and older own 80 percent of the stock market. The top ten percent own 93 percent of the stock market. I think it's lost on the media and political class that the vast majority of the country just doesn't really care what's happening in the stock market.

It shows that mostly older people and the richest control the stock market, so most regular folks aren’t really affected or interested in its ups and downs.
