If you want real customers and you would use your product, then just be yourself on the call. If you swear, swear, if you’re polite, be polite, if you wear suits, wear a suit, just be you. If you’re not you, and you get the sale, the customer sucks, you bought them, or the product sells itself in which case, good job. The other two are going to zero

Authenticity is definitely key in building genuine customer relationships…. But what if your natural style doesn't align with a customer's expectations, How do you balance being yourself with adapting to different audiences?

None of us are so ourselves that we’re a rigid pile of concrete, read the room for sure, but being natural is also reading the room. There are some stereotypical founder-like traits, this post is more about don’t shy away from being that because of something some asshat who hasn’t built anything ever or in forever tells you is THE right way to do it. I’m not good at holding back pretend sensitive business details or being secretive, so why try. If I try it makes me awkward in the convo, it’s not natural to me, so instead I share the things most other won’t because I’m more comfortable describing the value of the thing from that position, personally
