Serious question I've been wanting to know forever: Is it game-theoretically possible for both "The West" and China to be synergistic economically and thrive together? As in positive sum / win-win This is the world I wanna see Without this, I don't think there will even be a world to see in the medium-long term

'Trade goods, not bombs' works until we're faced with scarcity. Weirdly enough, you might find an answer to this question by looking to the recent election of Felix Tshisekedi, the current Pres of the DRC. At present, cobalt is one of the most strategically significant minerals in the world (EVs), and that shit is finite. Its sourcing is incredibly dubious as well. But I prefer a amoral-machievellian takes when discussing geopolitics.

Felix is American backed, and has to navigate the deeply entrenched Chinese who have been doing the classic 'neo-colonial debt-trap-collateralized-with-resources-fuck-the-poor-but-let-the-ruling-class-ball-out-thing' A move the IMF and World Bank had mastered in the 60's.
