Ironically, I’m planning of getting rid of all of my apocalyptic healthcare items I’ve hoarded over the years in an attempt to downsize. Basic Items I recommend to add to your toolkit off the top of my head: Saline, Distilled water, basic antibiotics, basic medicines, basic dressings. Larger is better for dressings and bigger wounds and you can always cut to size with sterile scissors. Lighter to sterilize and disinfect any unconventional metal tools. N95 masks and latex free Coban self wrap bandaging. The self wrap bandaging is critical bc it removes your reliance on adhesives to stay sticky. Also will help your n95 mask adhere to your face if the strings get worn out over time. So many useful things it can be used for. Tweezers, good enough to be sharped, very helpful in many situations. Tourniquets. good quality scissors to cut through thick bloody garments. bleed stop. Lots of bleedstop. Hyphochlorous acid or investing in items that make it easy for you to create your own.

yeah it's such a game of optimization--can't have too much stuff taking up all the space either! thank you for sharing your list, i like how they are multipurpose and you have thought about how to generate new items in case they get used up.

Exactly! What’s your list look like? Another big thing is how to manage your period… in a true apocalyptic situation where consistent access to pads and clean water may be at jeapoardy, free bleeding is a liability - it jeopardizes revealing your location, and clunkier retro versions of modern pads (gauze and a belt) make it difficult to move flexibly and quickly which will be critical. Furs are not the cleanest and requires having the ability to dry and stretch out the skin. Cotton has to be harvested and then spun, etc. I think a profitable business in the apocalypse will be creating apocalyptic friendly period care.

Blast proof for your less mobile stuff (think a bunker bag instead of a go bag) Also I fully didn’t realize yall were talking period stuff so reply is off topic
