Does recasting a reply actually do anything? 🧐

y'know I was just wondering the same thing this morning! Do we know the answer? is it better to quote cast a reply we want to "recast"?

Yeah I think so unfortunately, recasts in general didn't do anything until recently (I think now they do boost top-level casts a bit but unclear) but I think reply recasts are still borked
