Im finding picking a channel for a post a source of friction when its not super obvious where it should it land and thus sending it w/o channels.

do you write the cast first and then pick channel once it’s drafted? or do you go to find a channel first before drafting, get kinda annoyed, and then just cast into no channel? i do the former fwiw

every once in a while if you feel that way you could cast in /no-channel or if you think a cast resonates with the audience of a specific person then you can cast in that person’s channel, or your very own channel

same, has felt like an extra step posting since I joined FC related - WC team has talked about how most users discover casts from their feed, not via channels. feels like a user's home feed is their public square, which I kind of like. at least It's where I put all strong opinions, weakly held lol

same here and then there are some very suitable channels that are still not well managed so the cast is likely to disappear in thin air.

Sometimes I have multiple channels I think would be fitting, but I am not sure cross posting (like on Reddit) is appreciated? Video in /youtube might be something perfect for /videos or /gaming at the same time.

Same. I don’t think channels, especially the large ones, have the same benefits of increased visibility that they used to have. Seems people are visiting channels less.
