I saw a comment once that said most of the people who would’ve catalogued every beetle in their tricounty area if they were born in 1833 are instead today making YouTube videos about how to find every ring in the hidden sublevels of Sonic Superstars and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since

Sound like we need to gamify the cataloguing of beetles 🪲 and other irl observations. Valuable data there. Bring back the gentleman scientist.
