that cast itself on her
betrayed but a sign of
the potent night to come?

For the choreographed
bedlam that then ensued
demonstrated in full
the imposing might of
her luminary grace,
her presence and her plays,
her songs and her embrace,
her many twisted ways.

Tendrils like lianas
bridging earth and heaven
that move and manoeuvre
the mortals in her show.

The puppet mistress sits
upon her starry throne,
her dulcet directives
ruling over us all,
with subtle strings of silver
that cause the rise and fall
of tides and of tempers,
of men and their monsters.

Madness, without a doubt
this dance of the mistress
that wrings the innards dry
and yet, induces joy.
