I’ve been a bit busy on a trip to my hometown, Valencia. A bit of Sun before I get back to cloudy London.

Gm – Daily post about underrated /jazz players. Today, Kenny Dorham, trumpeter from Fairfield, TX. He played in Parker's Quintet and Gillespie big band and was part of the Jazz Messengers. Dorham is another case where premature death didn't allow his career to grow big. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ic2cVXPcN0

Gm – Daily post about underrated /jazz players. Today, Ike Quebec, saxo from Dayton, OH. Quebec's life & career was short and ended in the '63. He did not record much but worked at Blue Note label and scouted Monk & Powell. He was known for his sight reading ability. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hP8JUiEVf8g

🧵 What are your favorite underrated jazz musicians? Mine of all times is Phineas Newborn Jr. One wonders how someone who could equal Peterson's talent could be so forgotten. Also, I love this album cover:

Gm – Daily post about underrated /jazz players. Today, Tuna Ötenel, pianist & saxo from İstanbul, Turkey. Ötenel composed the 1st ever Turkish jazz album (Jazz Semai). He'd say "instead of working 30 pieces in an hour, give 30 hours to a piece". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfvYqOaf8Xs

Altered Gravity Lunch, April 2022. I am obsessed with gravity and how it governs the perception of space-time according to general relativity. iPhones change time perception when using them which is why they've overcome gravity on my GIF work.

Gm /jazz – Daily (almost) post about underrated jazz players. Today, Mary Lou Williams, pianist from Durham, NC. Williams was The Teacher. She taught Monk, Parker, Mingus, Davis & Gillespie. 🧵The major breakthrough I had at gym was replacing the typical 3 series of 10 by the following: 1st series of 12 reps with a weight that causes almost failure on the 12th rep. Break 15 sec. Now do as many reps as you can until almost failure. It doesn’t matter if it’s 10 or 3. Break 15 sec. Keep reading👇

Thought I would never find a community about this. Why do some people find burps worse than farts despite these don't smell as bad?

Gm /jazz – Daily post about underrated jazz players. Today, Lou Stein, pianist from Philadelphia, PA. Little is known about Stein's personal life, he was mainly a studio recorder and preferred to play domestically. However, he managed to have a good swing. I had an inspiring jazz night among friends not too long ago. I wanted to capture the moment of how the mess on the table evokes the joy people had when the sky was still dark.
