Hey! I hate to pry but have a couple of questions for you. When you turn your head to the side that hurts does it get worse and is it the below muscle? Is the pain worse in the morning or at night?

OMG thank you for prying!! I hope you can diagnose me. it feels like that muscle, but on the right side. Possibly the muscle next to it on the inner side. It’s def worse in the evening as the day wears on what’s wrong with me!!!

Sorry for the late reply. It might be an adhesion in the iliocostalis. This is essentially collagen buildup between muscles and nerves and cause pain through pressure on the nerve. Potential Cause: Without proper lumbar support and craning the neck increase the strain on support muscles that lead to scarring of the neck support system. Reduce pain: Perform self myofascual therapies on the muscle, like Gus Shua, trigger point, and if it’s very painful I would go with a TENS unit (they are only like $25 and highly effective. I used one when my wife was in labor and the doctor was impressed because she didn’t need the drugs) Correcting the dysfunction: Once you have resolved some of the pain you’ll want to fix the muscle so it doesn’t happen again. Deepening on how it’s feeling I can assist you on which exercises can help. Please feel free to DM me to get specifics on any of these suggestions. I train wellness professionals on these modalities and love helping!
