Thanks for the transparency and for investing in devs 🫡 🙏 Makes me more bullish for farcaster /gmfarcaster standing by if and whenever you want some media support 💜 In the meantime can you encourage any of the developers attending to come on our show afterwards to tell us about their experience?

PSA — wanted to let everyone know that next week we're hosting ~50 developers in the Farcaster ecosystem for a 1-day "Dev Day" in Los Angeles. We invited wide group of developers from the ecosystem. Inevitably there will be a few people who will feel left out. So here's what we plan to do: 1. We're running a Farcaster Developer Survey and will publish the results of the survey. 2. We're planning to share a summary of what is discussed at dev day after the event. 3. We will also do a developer session on a video livestream for those that weren't able to attend to get a chance to give feedback and ask questions. 4. If Dev Day goes well, we will likely do another one in the future.

I participated in Hawaii's inaugural blockchain summit yesterday, alongside @justbuild @cove @tracyit @daganxyz @chusla and many others. Some takeaways: - We had about ~150 in attendance. Small numbers, but a diverse & relevant crowd, including an Aptos co-founder from Hawaii - It's important to draw the builders & degens out from behind their screens to drive discussion *in person* at the *local levels* (this is different from name brand conferences in big cities) - A state senator gave the keynote and was supportive of blockchain, which may not sound like much, but in our deeply blue state, it's a lot - I really don't enjoy public speaking, but it's important to get out of the comfort zone every once in a while. What's the worst that could happen? It felt like what I imagine the 1st FarCon was - intimate, meaningful, early. To quote Just Build (who is fantastic on stage): "This year, 100. Next year, 1000. The year after, 10,000." One step at a time. This is how we build.

I was just standing beside someone who ordered a literal soy latte. I think until this point I didn't even realize that soy lattes exist as an actual drink; my mind only recognized the term "soy latte" as a standardized culture war slur that the opposite tribe sometimes uses against my archetype.

my two cents and in-good-faith interpretation of "not enough interesting content": @dwr.eth DOES NOT mean that current users aren't interesting enough @dwr.eth DOES mean that there are not enough of us so that the supply of interesting content on warpcast simply cannot compete with the supply on other platforms

Hot take: If models can't be a moat, then perhaps hidden agents can be? We've been practicing witchcraft incantations with system prompts and agent loops to squeeze out performance from the models we use. Things they couldn't do without additional context token repricing, or without additional steps of "reasoning". Are we headed to a world where only open models give "raw" access to make our own clever system prompts and agents, and AI platform providers continue to improve behind hidden agent systems like o1? 🍓

Surfers are some of the most dedicated people on the planet. No matter how land-locked they are, they'll find a way to catch some waves. Eisbach is a man-made river break in the middle of Munich, Germany. I rode my bike down to catch a sneak peak and see if I wanted to sample it during my visit. I took one look at these guys in head-to-toe wetsuits and chickened out. Was definitely pretty fun to watch though, and it made me super grateful to live in a place where a bikini and a rash guard will do on most days.
