(Most of the smell goes to the sole which have to be replaced over time anyway!)

Yup, even the laces are replaceable. You just need a funny metal stick thing to put them through some of the holes

Insoles! Which in hindsight is a pretty normal thing to do 😆

You're talking about replacing outsoles not insoles right?

I’ve done this with multiple pairs of Birkenstocks (soles) and Chacos (webbing & soles). If you get the footbed right, the small cost of replacement is always worth it.
