Have you ever reached out to Lil B to do some sort of official collaboration? I vaguely remember years ago he said he was anti crypto and would never do a collection but I’d want to believe as a cultural pioneer he’d be open to change his mind at some point!

yes! i've reached out to him and have gone through a few channels as well. haven't been able to get to something substantive yet, but i'm not giving up (and actually have an active lead that i'm working on right now :P). in general, i feel like we owe a huge debt of gratitude to both lil b (and black american culture more broadly) for the creation and popularization of the word based. we've gotten to embue it with a bunch of meaning in /base land, but without the incredibly strong foundation of cultural meaning, i don't think it'd have nearly the same weight. i look forward to finding ways to repay this debt as base has a larger impact on the world.

I remember you acknowledging this at Farcon as well and as someone who’s sensitive to language and how it shapes culture (and vice versa) I greatly appreciate your stance. Fingers crossed Lil B can find something that works for him. Could be a great case for memetic ownership paying dividends!
