What if the band was just negative space? And an outline when untapped then filled when tapped?

tech is hostile to me tonight but this is it, it can work but at reaction button size i would avoid tap interactions probably (itd be like 2px high)

Ahh, only in passing! I didn’t see the reaction, just the large Degen’s image. 

I wanna believe with an optimized vector with no subpixels, it could be legible as an outline.
