weed is more abused than tobacco, worsens psychological dependency on drugs, and normalizes unhealthy coping mechanisms. society has relaxed standards of responsible moderation and sobriety, and that is wrong

I’ve been entirely sober my entire life so I have no stake in this question and am just curious: Where do you stand on recreational psychedelics? Anything from mushrooms to DMT

“you can only open the doors of perception once” — psychedelics have fundamentally changed how i see the world, and they have given me great focus, but they are still drugs and a sober reality is way better for me

Do you think you could have achieved the same focus without them? Or a less hypothetical question, why is the sober reality better for you?

imo, psychedelics don’t do anything you couldn’t do on your own. i want to reduce the barriers to bodily knowledge as much as i possibly can, and i think drugs get in the way of the truth of how you feel and know one’s self. how can you survive without knowing how you live?

I wholeheartedly agree. I appreciate your thoughtful answers. My curiosity stems from being ever so slightly curious about psychedelics as I’ve grown older and understood my quirks, namely adhd. I briefly took antidepressants which helped but I’m in a place where behavioral changes (exercise) are helping more.

chasing your curiosity and experimenting is healthy! DM me if you want to talk more openly. it is so impressive how little we know. it takes valuable time and patience to discover those quirks. glad you've moved on from the antidepressants, a lot of folks get stuck with them.
