@brennen.eth not sure if this has been discussed yet but I think adding an option for not recording would be worth considering.

1) users can/will delete anyway

2) being upfront in the UI that it won’t be recorded (by not having the recording indicator) could encourage users who otherwise wouldn’t speak

Agreed! Giving the option is best, even if the default is to record so people don’t forget. 

Make the lack of recording a conscious decision, or even perhaps have an option to turn it off part way through.

Uhm that's interesting, having blackout moments is actually pretty cool. So people can hear shit and then "oh hey we going back out for the next 30m"

Definitely, cause I fucking hate ██████ when he keeps talking about ██ and ████. But yea seems helpful.
