And every other tool ever that seemingly threatened a small set of creators while unlocking entire generations of new ones.

Imagine gatekeeping creativity.

I think there’s misplaced frustration between companies recklessly making these tools and the people using them.

It’s understandably frustrating to have work stolen and remixed without any attribution. But I want to believe we’d have something comparable using public domain and open source media as seed material without infringing copyright.

The use of protected works just accelerated the process, which was likely bound to happen anyway in some pocket of the web. We’re just having the complicated conversations now of what it means to own a style, etc.

All this to say I don’t think it’s fair to police people for wanting to play with shiny new toys that are all the rage.

Difference is the latest tech wouldn’t be possible without intellectual property that was used without permission or compensation of the IP owners. It’s an oversimplification to dismiss artists criticizing it as luddites. 😕

Nothing is “gatekeeping” AI from anyone besides time and money.

If a non-technical background person perceives AI to be simply pressing buttons, stolen art, or doesn’t align with it… that’s how they view it.

Bullying, and shunning criticism is exactly what weak minded and weak willed individuals do. 👍

Being an artist is not just about creating art
regardless how you do it, it has got more to do with having a thick skin
as artists you will always be criticized from the tools you use to the technicality. Just gotta keep your head down and keep putting art out there. one right eyes and all  these noise goes right out the window
